@Haydn78 Actually it wasn't only the conversion kits that had this. From what myself and my buddies at TRMK can tell is that the early MK machines had the characters depicting the moves. Later machines and the conversion kits did have the move set spelled out. What's funny is I have an MK2 conversion kit panel overlay that has the characters on it.

I think you just answered a question I've had for a long time with this review. I'm looking to buy an original MK arcade cabinet. I've always noticed the difference of the buttons depicting characters or the actual names i.e. high punch. Are you 100% sure that only the conversion kits had the buttons spelled out and all MK's that came from the factory had control overlays with the characters?
