  • Earth is coveted with trees and life. Must be very special.

  • Edward Scissorhands comes to mind. Great job.

  • About the knives, I have never gotten the sharpness and clean cut that I need with serrated. I use exclusively 18 inch handles and Brush King German steel. The long handle means more leverage, higher blade speed, thus cleaner cutting. Another major advantage is that you are standing back from the tree, thus able to constantly appraise the cone shape of the whole tree. And finally the long handle makes it so you can cut from the top to the bottom in one swipe, thus leaving only one angle.

  • In my thirty six years of doing this I have sheared over 1.5 million trees. Though I primarily focus on high quality work, I am no stranger to full energy quantity shearing. The most that I sheared in one day is around 3400 trees in 10 hours. That summer I averaged about 2100 trees a day. I did over 140, 000 trees in almost 70 days. Though I am slower now, I would be happy to accept the challenge. Name the time and place and we will negotiate the judges.

  • you're slow

  • thats the way it should be done. you should give lessons lad job well done

  • Brush King and Mohawk both offer straight blade and serrated blades. For shearing Christmas trees, is one type of blade better than the other? What about the blade/handle lengths - what do you use for trees the size of those in the video or smaller? thanks for you help....

  • may I ask what brand of knives do you use ? and would you like to try a mohawk shearing knife.
