I purchased this vintage Lambretta Li 125 scooter at a "garage sale" yesterday. I saw it parked, but not for sale. It had not been started in about nine years. When previously running, wife said; "It's too fast!" I asked the owner for the bottom-line price, and accepted his amount.
I brought it home, put air in the tires, drained the fuel, put in fresh 2-stroke mixed and stabilized fuel, turned on the choke, kicked the starter, and it fired on the third try. I have not even adjusted the carburetor.
It appears to be 100% original, including the paint.
The gearbox has started to leak heavy oil, but that is not surprising. It has not been up to running temperature for nearly a decade. I will re-torque all the nuts and I suspect that will stop the leaking.
I have this for sale (May 2011).
Is this bike still for sale? I've emailed a couple of different ways- through the CL address, You Tube and through the LCUSA and not heard back from you. Please contact me either way. I'm just up the road from you in Sacramento. Thanks- voxnut@yahoo.com
