Here is a FULL hands on review of the New shoulder bag by Think Tank Photo called Retrospective 30. This is a very well thought out and manufactured bag. I was surprised at the amount of gear I could securely fit into this bag.

Check out the full hands on review.

  • Jared when you use your Rs-7 Strap and the 70-200 together do you mount the strap to the tripod collar or do you just mount it to your camera?

  • @arabinow great question, if I will be changing lenses and switching to other lenses in the hebrew trinity i will leave it in the camera. If I will be using only the 70-200 i will put it in the collar. The reason for this is i dont want to unhook in order to switch lenses. I do have extra fastnr's which i can keep on the 70-200 and the body but i prefer keeping on the body only when shooting. Il switch to the mount if i am walking with the lens or letting it hang there.

  • hey Jared my mom got me a d5000 kit 18-55 (for xmas which she hid terribly) but i cant pick whether to get a 70-200 or a fish eye which would you say to get first and i am getting a 50mm prime from my uncle

  • @JazzeRae360 to me a 70-200 is way more versatile.

  • How is the bottom material, would you put the bag down in sand, grass, wet pavement? Does the rain cover wrap around the bottom as well or just from the top

  • @bngphotos I have put it in sand on the beach its still soft but its material than padding than equipment so i think its fine.

  • So, I've got a D7000 with MB-d11, 70-200, 50 1.4, 35 1.8, sb600. Soon to get a 24-70 or wide angle zoom. Is the retrospective 30 a good choice for this equipment? or is it gonna be too big?

  • Hey Jared, I have a retrospective 20, and I was wondering if it was viable to store my camera with the lens hood attached on the 24-70 in the normal orientation, facing down (with the camera attached). I was pretty indecisive on this because I'm worried about wearing the focus mechanism if i put all the weight on the moving part of the lens (when the hood is reversed), versus all of the weight on the hood instead. What's your take? You use a D3s, which is way heavier than my D7000 + grip. Thanks

  • I still like Billingham's shoulder bags...its water-dripped/water resistant...and i'm not sure if i like the Velcro

  • Macgyver rocks ....

I got very professional time-lapse videos with thiscamera! cool sunset videos!

  • "It slid into here very well" and "It was very difficult to get the lens in and out" - it seems Jared's using sexual references to appeal to a wider audience :) LOL!
