Click the Hardware Tab on the Window that will show up

Click Device Manager

Expand Ports on the list

Double Click Communications Port (COMx)

Click the Port Settings Tab on the Windows that will show up

Now change the Bits per second to the Maximum (128000) and Set the Flow Control to Hardware

  • This might actually do something (not necessarily something GOOD, but SOMEthing) for the small percentage of Internet users still connecting via external dial-up modem. For anyone else, your COM port likely isn't even attached to anything, much less in need of adjustment. If you're on Cable or DSL then changing this is like trying to fix a broken radio by changing the speakers; it might make you feel better, but it has zero effect on the problem.

  • hmm plz help my one doesnt say ports

  • it was 4.4 mbps now its 5.4 mbps :p

  • Oh wow it works! Thank you very much!

  • I have windows and there is no going any further than Click Device Manager, there is no "Expand Ports" on the list, so can't go any farther

  • itsss working thanks friend........

  • thumbs up if u are watching this on 480p...lolXD

  • @AmatureSniPPeZ Lmaof..........

  • of course it works..........NOT

  • it ONLY works if you have a 56k PCI modem or serrial port.
