@LadyOfDarkSide Absolutely, blood magic is a destructive, corrupting force but it doesn’t need to be evil. It is dangerous though and one needs to be strong to use it or it’s gonna end badly. It can be evil though, if it is being used for the wrong purpose (i.e. Quentin). As for the magisters, they can use it not to become salves themselves, but what of Danarious who killed a young boy at a party just to amuse the other magisters?
@FluffyNinjaLlama Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. Blood magic is more powerful - and dangerous - than other kind of magic - and apparently it's easy to learn - but it isn't an "evil" magic. Mages use it only if there aren't other choices left - like Jowan, Merril and even Malcom Hawke. I mean, even Magister in Tevinter use it because they have to - otherwise they will become slaves too. I hate the way things work in the Imperium, but still, it's not blood magic's fault.
@LadyOfDarkSide Blood magic.. that’s a tricky subject. I don’t hate it per se… it’s bad most of the time though, when it’s misused, but there are exceptions. It can have a good purpose, i.e. Merrill uses it to preserve a history of her people, she’s not evil and her goal isn’t evil either. Jowan wasn’t evil. Poor, oppressed mages from Gallows who turn to blood magic because they have no choice aren’t evil.. well most of them at least.
@FluffyNinjaLlama It was difficult for me too, but now I think Anders did the right thing. I mean, it was necessary. I can understand him.
I always support mages, but I didn't undestand completely until I read something which make me realize what Anders was trying to say - I think that in Dragon Age 2 they should have let Anders so say something about how mage are opressed, let him to tell stories aboout it. And when I played Origins as a Mage...well, now I don't hate even blood magic.
@LadyOfDarkSide Yeah the mages plight thingy can be tiresome at times but I understand why it’s so important to Anders and why he’s devoted to his cause so I make do. And the fact that I mostly play as a mage and I wholeheartedly support mages and almost always side with them helps as well. The Chantry blowing up.. that was extremely hard to accept. But I’ve given it a lot of thought and I’m at peace with it now... it took me a long time though.
@FluffyNinjaLlama My Hawke is like "If you are really worry about me, then take care of yourself and cut out this mage stuff, so my headache will stop!"...even if my rivalmance Hawke is a mage too. They have a different view about justice and Justice. /shoot I see Anders's rivalry in the same way - I think it's curious how rivalmance helps people - but my Hawke is strict. Really. I enjoyed myself to create a character with so much problems. But when Anders blow up the Chantry...
Anybody else go "AWWW!" when Anders chipped in?
