@martinpaulwatts My Sifu once told me a story where someone had came to his school and had a funny stance while playing chi sao, it turns out that guy has been doing that funny stance his whole life, and he actually ended up being really good. what i'm trying to say is that you can never judge something on how it looks no matter if it looks weird or whatever, sorry about my ignorant comment back then, i was still learning, and now i still have yet to learn everything :)) thanks Martin! -William
@EmoGuitar666 The centre line theory you are talking about is not the only interpretation of centre line theory that exists in the styles ancestral to Wing Chun. So I think you have to say "...the whole basics of the Wing Chun that I study..." rather that "...the whole basics of wing chun...." Best wishes, Martin.
It seems like everybody thinks that there is only one Wing Chun style. This lineage of Wing Chun is probably older than Yip Man's lineage. I have seen WC lineages that are not Yip's. It doesn't mean that people create "their own". If you do some research you will see for yourself.
you're missing the whole basics of wing chun.. if you train like that.. you would be training out of the center line.. it looks good but is it efficient?

Wing Chun style originated from Choy Gar ( rat style) Wing Chun is just simply a knock off of an ancient style.
