In this clip, passenger cars are connected to the rear of a real D and RGW freight train traveling between Durango Colorado and Silverton Colorado during 1952. The train still runs today as a tourist railroad and if you have never taken a trip on this world famous rail line, you are missing out on something very special.
In this video, Railroad Durango to Silverton 1952, The very last scene I believe to be on the switchbacks of the Monarch branch. I think this was the only spot on the narrow gauge to have the blinking light crossing guards.

@mesaman3000 You may be correct as It looks like a string of cars on the switchback in the background.
This may be the first switchback across HY 50 west of Poncha Springs. I know this area some what and it does sort of look like the area.
I had a hard time to edit these movies as they were all spliced together out of order. Check my other video to see the two D and RGW Locomotives at Sargents. Thanks TT.

Thanks for posting these great videos! The narrow gauge lives on in the digital age!
The Marshall Pass clip is historic because it shows the RGS Goose no. 3 fresh from the demise of the RGS.
I embedded and linked back to these videos from my blog. Please keep putting up the great content. I'm sure my readers will enjoy it!

@coloradorailroads Steve I think the Marshall pass video is actually the Rio Grande Southern for the first part. The last part of the video is D and RGW @ Sargents Colorado. I changed the information. You may want to review the video again to see the changes. Thanks TT.
