Beryl / 3d desktop / linux and beagle (desktop search)

My very own beryl 3d desktop running linux (k)ubuntu 6.10 with an ati xpress 1100 (200m). I show several 3d effects, several usability goodies (like the group/tab funcionality) and beagle/kickoff (desktop search) integrated with (k)ubuntu. All open source, all for free, and light years ahead of Vista. Enjoy!

did you have this problem when loading up beryl? "beryl: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing

beryl: Using non-tfp mode

beryl: GLX_SGIX_fbconfig is missing

beryl: Failed to manage screen: 0

beryl: No manageable screens found on display :1.0"

If you know anything about it, get back to me please.. I'm so stressed about it!!!!

what distro are you using? ati? fglrx? i need more info :)

i have a ati xpress radeon 200m

using feisty

and the fglrx drivers

i was afraid of that. feisty is broken for ati cards, the beryl-core package lacks the xgl binary, you need to read the wiki in the beryl project and add their official repo, and then reinstall the beryl-core from them.

Is this GNOME or KDE? I can't tell, but I'd assume it's KDE.

It's kde running kickoff + beagle with the kde beagle client (kerry). see the post above to see where you can find kickoff.

I didn't understood your question. My ati xpress 1100 has a 200m chipset and 128MB of shared memory with my laptop. where did you see the 200 mb in my post?

What are you using for your launcher menu? In other words, how do you get the tabs with the integrated search? Or is that just Beagle? I can't tell from this video.
