  • Unfortunaletly the Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 are under FAR PART 25 then needed a pilot and copilot.

  • @daniloypereira yes i wonder about that. with the FBW and automation provided by the proline fusion avionics, why isn't it single pilot certified? the Phenom 300 which is certified single pilot, with a lot less capable avionics suite in the Garmin, flies to the same 45000 foot ceiling, which means it will encounter the same high altitude complexities, as the Legacies.... i don't get it. in the Legacy mock-up pics i have seen no tiller wheel, so a single pilot should handle take offs. hmmm...??

  • @siriusproper Yes but for this executive aircraft class (midsize jets) is more acceptable for authorities a Part 25 aircrafts because a limitations for cargo compartments, seats certification, fire extinghisher systems for aircrafts with more than 9 seats pax.

  • Can anyone name one crappy plane from Embraer? As far as I know all Embraer civilian planes are a success. Especially love the 170.

  • @atrelho If you read well, i typed that it didn't belong anymore to the state. So if you read well what I typed you would understand that I understand that it's a private company, that's why it's more profitable. have a nice day.

  • Anyone flying a jet that flies single pilot is increasing the risk of an accident, I have single pilot ratings in the Phenom 100 and 300 and I have owned a 100 and now a 300 and I would never fly single pilot. In fact the insurance company will give you $50 million coverage if you fly as crew, if you fly single pilot it will be $10 million and cost more. I saw serial #1 Legacy 500 being built when I was at Embraer picking up my Phenom 300, both are amazing aircraft!

  • Brazilian pride, and out gift for the world.

  • @siriusproper the legacy 450/500 series have a longer range, and if the pilots take turns on sleeping someone will still be flying the jet

  • ive been checking out privet jets for a long time, i think this is the some rare rather small plane that has lavatory and big fuel tank for long distance that lets people fly like they're in a big private jet. im just talking about the baby Legacy 450..

  • @daniloypereira yes i think i understand what you're saying, however, none of that has anything to do with a single pilot being able to safely and effectively fly an aircraft.

another case in point is the G150. with Gulfstreams Planeview enhancements, to the G150 Proline 21 cockpit, EVS (great enhancement to safety and S/A in nighttine flying and/or IMC flying) Autothrottles (reducing pilot workload), there is no reason in my opinion, that plane should not be Single Pilot certified as well.

  • No, I can't name any crappy plane from Embraer. I find it amazing how they transformed this company from a terrible state owned company to a profit good making airplane company, with good technology, good prices, great & effective commercials.
