i thort andy was doing sum massive pull dwn counters off yods body kiks and timing his counters underneath and handwork beautifuly and after watching this i think evry1 should have pull downs in there arsenal it beats taking body kiks all night
@yuv06 I totally understand what you are saying because I am a professional fighter and am trained by one of the hardest kickers, Maurice Smith. But what you dont understand is the dutch style of blocking body kicks. Our style does not use the leg and one hand to block body kicks. We use both forearms to block body kicks. In doing so, it keeps both feet firmly on the ground which translates to fast counters of any sort and thats what you see Andy doing in this fight. Hurt or not, its a block
@Basketbaka1031 I just watched it twice more and didnt see Yod land a single mid kick. He glanced about 3 mid kicks while Andy was kicking his supporting leg. Listen, you obviously dont know how Andy and most European kickboxers block mid kicks so please dont come on here stating that they arent blocking. Get educated on how he and others block then watch again. AGAIN, kicking the forearms is NOT landing a kick, thats how they block. I could go on but then Id need to charge you for a lesson.
@TheRevolution33 Obviously we are watching a different fight? Looks like Yod landed a fair percentage of kicks. If you look carefully enough, half of his middle kicks were not blocked. Also, the only countershots that Souwer landed were his low kicks. His punches barely touched Yod who had immaculate head movement. Also, Yod countered Souwer's punches accurately and stopped Souwer from coming forward. 2nd Round, Souwer resorted to clinch work, and still got owned...
@031ish did not score. Same goes for blocked kicks to the body. Now, if a fighter gets kicked and never answers back with a return of some sort then the fighter that is kicking is now scoring in a way of "staying busy". Just because something hurts doesnt mean it scoring. Yod was kicking and Andy was blocking AND returning immediately with kicks and punches and was landing. Thats what counts, thats what is scoring. If Andy would have just stood there and not returned, Yod would be winning.
@031ish Ok, well Im a professional fighter so I do know how much it hurts but its not scoring. Blocking body kicks with your arms is exactly what it is "a block". If a fighter stays active that will "score" in some way for them but kicking another fighters forearms is NOT scoring. Lets just put it this way, if one fighter throws a leg kick and the other checks it with his shin, would that score for the one throwing the kick? No it would not, the kick was checked (blocked) and therefore
@TheRevolution33 I dont understand, what do you mean by andy blocked almost all of yods kicks? Yod was kicking his forearm! And that was Yods game plan. Do you know how much been kicked in the forearm hurts? It brings the fighters arm down so u can throw punches past there guard and yes u do score points by kicking someones forearm!

@TheRevolution33 The point is not scoring! The point is that it wears your opponent down! Even if you block with your arms those kick hurt like hell!
