@alanpriceisgool Traktor has a key field where it does show the key of the song, but it DOES NOT detect it on its own, you need to either check the key yourself and input the data in Traktor (or iTunes, or any ID tag capable software), or use a key detection software like Mixed In Key to do that for you. MIK is great, but everyone thinking of starting to mix harmonically IMO should also know how to find the key themselves, so they're not just blindly trusting a software.

@Hemmaty good question. Does traktor show you the key of a song>?
-
@Hemmaty I have my Otus' upper corner wheels assigned to key adjustment & the wheel buttons for on/off key.
If you still have the same tracks, but are playing 'I Ran' at 132, you're playing it -0,39 cents/-2,2%. In that case 'SSS' would only be +0,26, so you'd first have 'I Ran' key set at -0,39, then engage, then wheel it to +0,26. I personally don't have key on all the time as it degrades sound quality. I usually don't play tracks more than 2bpm ~ 1,5% ~ 25 cents apart, so I don't need to.

@Hemmaty In Traktor you can set up the deck display to show the pitch % and cent amount (in relation to the original pitch). If you know that for eg. the GE 'I Ran' mix is 135bpm Am, and you want to mix 130 Em (Am & Em being fitting keys) you can see that what the difference is, in this case 65 cents. You need to decide which track you tune to which, and calculate the difference, which is sometimes tricky in the heat of a mix if neither is in the original pitch (but not rocket science ;)
Just gotta ask how u connect the djm-800 and cdj-1000 to ur laptop? im a dj my self and have tryed to find anyway to get them connected but they dont have the link thing as the cdj-2000 and djm-2000 has, using the 2000series myself. hope u could tell me so i could try it out my self :) I can feel the beat!

@hevosenpaska109 The CDJs are connected "normally", just the audio RCAs from the player to the mixer, ie. I only use them if I need to play a CD (and these days I require the 2ks). You can't connect the 1000's to the laptop in any kind of way directly, but you can use timecode control CDs to control Traktor or Serato, in which case you need the correct version of the software and a specific audio interface capable of doing that. I only need Laptop > USB > Otus > RCA > mixer.
