This follows I-24 east across Monteagle in Tennessee to Mile 164, just before the road dips in to Georgia for a few miles.

  • When are you going to do a video on Memphis?

  • I have no idea, never been there.

  • I have enjoyed all of your I-24 videos. Tennessee is my favorite part of our drive from Missouri to Florida.

You have stated you mounted the camera to your sunroof; how exactly? ( I want to film our next trip to WDW.

  • Thanks,

I never said my camera was on the sunroof? It's on a tripod on the front seat floorboard.

  • Could you tell us what video editing software you use?

  • Final Cut Express 4 on a 15" MacBook Pro.

  • Most other European countries have laws prohibiting overtaking on the right (left in the UK) as well.

In the U.S. State of Illinois, where I live, there is a law on the books that prohibits "driving considerably slower than the flow of traffic while in the left lane." In other words, overtaking on the right is still technically legal, but driving slowly in the left lane for any prolonged amount of time can get a driver fined.

  • that Chyrsler 300 was an ass hole

  • That has to be the coolest rest area in the country. U can't beat stopping on an island to see an amazing view of the lake and the mountains around it. It looks like a great place 2 go fishing.

  • Thats tennessee drivers for you. I live in Cookeville and have not yet been in a wreck

its a wonder that I've been so lucky. The inclines around here are steep and narrow and people go just as fast. Scary!

  • This stretch of highway right here....ahh the memories. Rode with a church member to Nashville from Atlanta to celebrate my birthday with a former mentor whose birthday is two weeks before mine. I was 15 about to turn 16. On the way back, I volunteered to drive the Ford Explorer--at the time I had a learner's permit. Took the wheel in Murfreesboro and guided that Ford down Monteagle like a pro...at 70 mph (oops).

Oh yeah, this was my first time driving outside of Georgia.

  • Sorry about double post... I don't know how that happened...

  • The first time I watched this video was shortly after I went to Florida with my family in January 2009... Traversing the mountain in this direction in the early morning hours of January 3rd, 2009, we encountered some of the thickest fog you could ever see outside of Great Britain... I had only been a passenger on this section and the westbound section... until the early morning of July 24th 2009 when I brought a Prevost H3-45 motor coach down off that mountain (Murfreesboro to Atlanta).

  • Love the video and song compilation. I remember taking this route from Indy to Florida as a kid-beautiful area. Later my future wife and I were stranded in the Best Western @ Monteagle during the 93' storm of the century and survived on Hostess ding-dongs and beer - lol!

    Great memories!

  • oo. i like videos like this. im driving from st. louis MO to miami florida and i'll be on this highway for 300 miles!.(according to mapquest) =)

  • It's legal.

In GA though a new law is being proposed to ticket slow drivers in the left lane.
