You might say this was the "original" morris dance - Laudnum Bunches, in the Headington tradition, as danced by Headington Quarry Morris Men. Performed here at the Thaxted 75th Anniversary Ring Meeting.
(By "original", I mean this is what was being danced on Boxing Day morning in 1899 when Cecil Sharp noticed, took notes, and inadvertantly kicked off the entire Morris Revival. None of these lads were there at the time, of course.)

Hey don't worry mate. Most people who dance (now) start in their late30s + and keep doing so until too old to rock'n'roll. Effectively, the longer you dance for, the less "new recruits" you need to draw in. It might not be ideal but I can't see morris going away anytime soon :)

Wonderful.... in a way, a real piece of history. Nice to see a bit of life in the dancing. Unfortunately, as we Morris teams seem to be getting older, that cannot always be the case.
