Which so few a number compared to the total who run windows use, so it's not a pertinent feature. It's ONLY pertinent if you run that program. And if you have a license of XP anyways, just use full blown XP.
XP mode isn't a full version of XP. It has no 3D support or certain hardware support to it. It's just strictly for these old programs like old banking, CAD programs etc..... or financing stuff some places still use
Since 7 runs 32 bit binaries natively, any 32 bit XP apps, which are probably near 80% out there, the ones 90%+ of the users who switch from XP and have XP software, will run perfectly fine in 7.
XP mode is for the older 8 and 16 bit apps like certain banking and other firms still use. It's not for 32 bit software. So NO, he's wrong XP mode is NOT needed unless you run an old ass 8 bit program from the early late 90's or so.
