There is one major flaw in this version though. When you fire when you're fully loaded, there's painful slowdown.

@Toneman This is in all versions or atleast the original Arcade which BTW isn't as dark as this version is.

Slowdown was made to help the player since the more powered up you are the harder the game gets in Gradius 1-3 (not including Salamander) getting a Force Field or a Shield will make the game unleash hell apon you.

the SNES Gradius 3 doesn't do that mostly because its already easier.
