Guy Negre of MDI Air Car engine that runs on compressed air. Emissions are only filtered air that's cleaner than outside air. 300 bars of pressure in carbon-fibre & kevlar air tanks. Car can travel at 110 km/hr and has a 150 km driving range. Refilling can be done by plugging in at home or at a special high-pressure air station. Dual-energy models use small amounts of bio-fuels that can extend the range to over 1400 kms.

Pollution free vehicle that produces zero emissions. When the car stops at traffic lights, the engine stops so no energy is lost because there's no idling.

  • A program to be taken serious - right up to the vision of perpetual motion, really? - silly!

The fact remains. CAT as a 'battery' solution does have huge potential. I look forward to my hybrid air car w/ onboard compressor. That makes great sense. The vision of the car refuling itself is silly at best. I can't believe the producers allowed that silly projection.

  • the reference to refueling itself it when you drive over 35mph, the air intake system refills the air tanks, while using a small amount of fuel to heat the air before it enters the engine.

and this video is based on the 2006 prototypes, not the 2010 North American version.

  • Thanks... this is all done by volunteers who want to help break through the mindset that this isn a "real car" because it doesn't use gasoline, (or pollute, cost over $20K, need 2 oil changes a year, use a ton of steel, etc etc)

Spread the word... it's a REAL CAR! 8-)

  • @gaetstanton HAAA dummy!

  • Iv'e developed a car that runs on gravity ! If you start at the top of one hill you can coast down and up another higher hill!!

  • @CATvolution LOL where is it then?? moron!

  • @fizzguts Interesting. I don't like seeing cheaters prosper but it's hard to feel bad for the investors (suckers) who gave them money. I'm sure the engineers at Tata were consulted and then ignored when they bought into this scam.

  • @BrucePBigelow Supposedly Catecar are currently in dispute and Eolo in Italy were going through the courts. The New Zealand mob seem to have written of their $500,000 MDI moving it's company to the tax avoidance haven Luxembourg probably makes it pretty awkward

There is a disgruntled investors grouping action-group dot co dot cc who are pissed about the money but still believe in the technology Sheesh

  • @fizzguts Yeah, they should change the name to the Pseudoscience channel.

Do you happen to know if anyone is suing MDI? I know most of the companies that have purchased licences to sell this fantasy vehicle aren't too happy with no deliveries and MDI's perpetual promise of "Next year..."

  • @BrucePBigelow Many thanks, your comment was a genuine laugh out loud moment

  • This was really on the Science Channel? If I claim my car runs 4000km on a single AA Batery dipped in tomato juice can I make it on there too?

  • So much bullshit.

From the start, compressing air requires energy, obtained from electricity and sourced from, primarily, the burning of fossil fuels.

  • "this man use to develope F1 racing engines"

    BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Negre's F1 engines were a disaster of the highest order. He was the laughing stock of the F1 world at the time

    "the obvious negative comments"

Like the FACT this piece of crap has never under test driven further than 5 miles? The FACT it is FIVE times LESS efficient than an electric car.

Tell you what find one independent test confirming MDI's lies opps claims and I''ll sing their praises

    Hello?

    Silence?

    Fools & Morons
