Alright everybody here we go - GODDANGIT ! I never hooked up that converter box dangit! Lol that was my reaction

"Alright everybody here we go..." -Oh crap I forgot the converter box!-

@daheath144 I hear you! I think that the FCC should have forced all full-power stations to use that physical channel number instead of their virtual channel number. They could have, however, keep the same branding they have been using for local news.

yuck, i loved analog! Since I have digital televison - there are problems all the time!

what fascinated me, was how many people were still caught with their pants down, and TV stations had been tellingthem for a YEAR it was coming. then again, residents of New Orlenas were warned about Katrina a week out too - but many stayed behind like dumbasses...
Oh, another problem with PSIP virtual channel numbers is TVs and converter boxes now absolutely have to do a channel scan before they will operate at all. Old people have no clue about how to do that. Try talking your 80 year old mom through that procedure over the phone and see for yourself. Also, when a new TV station comes on every TV in that area needs to do a rescan to see it. Gone is any fixed relationship between channel numbers and frequency. Sad.

Yes, PSIP lets them lie about the channel they transmit on. People wonder why they can't get digital "CH-2" anymore with their old VHF antenna. It's because WSB is on CH-39 but hide that fact from their viewers. UHF doesn't go over hills as well either. And if someone wants a single channel yagi cut for channel 2 what do they order? Depends on what city they are in. This is so stupid.

Even more annoying is the fact that they are transmitting on channel 39 but still claim to be "channel 2".
