War Made Easy brings to the screen Norman Solomon's insightful analysis of the strategies used by administrations, both Democratic and Republican, to promote their agendas for war from Vietnam to Iraq. By familiarizing viewers with the techniques of war propaganda, War Made Easy encourages viewers to think critically about the messages put out by today's spin doctors - messages which are designed to promote and prolong a policy of militarism under the guise of the "war on terror." Based on the book by the same title.

  • oh so "we're" the assholes......Fuck

  • @bulbinking yup, boils down to parenting, parents will buy R-rated games just to shut their kids up and leave them alone, but games have drastically changed, have you noticed that the reward system in games is a MUST HAVE nowadays, it all goes back to the immediate satisfaction, probably one of the reasons why FPS shooters are so popular in america, tons of rewards to keep u glued, and in the meantime kids get obese, rude and their vocablary consists of 50 different variations of the word "Fuck"

Thats the parents fault, and it is very sad. The studies done to show whether or not violent games cause desensitization to real violence are still very sketchy and there has yet to be a scientifically and ethically sound study as well, but I do agree somewhat with you. I can't tell you how upset I get every time I hear a "squeaker" over the mic while playing an M rated game online...

  • @bulbinking ooh yeah, and in real life we don't get infinite continues and checkpoints every 3 minutes.

  • @bulbinking

i have 4-5-and black ops on PC, i'm not saying that its "training" but its more like desensitizing younger crows of the violence of war. I mean back when i was 8-10 i was playing Mario and Donkey Kong, now kids are playing games like Dead Space (which i have as well). Its not bad when the kid understands the fine line between work and play, but with kids dropping out like flies from school just to play X-box live and COD ( i know 3 kids i work with that DO'd) sumthin wrong here.

Have you ever played a CoD game? I do all the time and it CERTAINLY does NOT train ANYBODY for any type of REAL combat. Its so popular because it is a fun game, does gears of war train our youth to fight the impending alien hordes or resident evil train against the coming zombie apocalypse? This whole thing is pretty much true, but I think you should pull it in a little bit from the left or else your political eagle might fall to the ground using only one wing.

The only loyalty that is sustainable is a loyalty to humanity, not countries, not organizations, not families; not even yourself. We are a race on a planet. We have to use scientific knowledge and the technology we create with it to sustain ourselves in a happy, healthy state, for as long as is possible. Turn our critical, scientific way of thinking onto ourselves and our societies, and we will achieve that. If not, then we are doomed to fight each other until we are soon extinct.

  • Can anyone vouch for those statistics of the % of civilian casualties? Those are mind blowing....
