Officials from Latin-American LAN Airlines (NYSE:LFL) announced Tuesday that an agreement has been signed by the company to buy 50 Airbus A320 aircrafts, set to be delivered between 2012 and 2016.
The aircrafts will fly regionally and domestically within Latin America, and the order includes a first-time order of the Airbus A321, which can hold up to 210 passengers.

LAN Airlines is currently above its 50-day moving average (MA) of $19.06 and above its 200-day of $17.04.
In the last five trading sessions, the 50-day MA has climbed 1.14% while the 200-day MA has risen 1.16%.
Shares of the air services provider closed Monday's trading session at $21.11.

LAN doesen´t took its name from "Latin-American". The origin comes from "Línea Aérea Nacional" and started its history in Chile in 1929
