This commonality also stretches clean across northern Africa all the way to Eritrea and Somalia. This is obviously a migrational zone that has been in existance before Islam made it's way across.

It is a multitude of languages and cultures, but there is a lot of commonality if you are familiar with these peoples. It goes all the way back to when Mali was almost 3/4 the sieze of present day USA. From Senegal to Algeria to northern Nigeria/Niger/Cameroon. If you are familiar with it then you won't have to ask.

@lionzion22 describe "Saharan"...because unless the people of the sahara were an isolated population(which they are not) it would still be a mix of multiple influences. as it is with all cultures over time.

Well, the dress, music, musical instruments,and language here are 95% saharan and have been so since before the arrival of Islam.
