Part 2 comes if I feel like I'm lacking something of this one...
Anyway I think I've got to explain a lot of things that I do in this video.
Also as I said in the title this works with G/S as well (with GoldMap).
Those who are interested in getting this editor (CrystalMapUpdated) I'm using you can download it here:
http://crystalfallows.110mb.com/AutoIndex/index.php?dir=tools/GSC/
I think there isn't much explaining about how to map; try to avoid doing weird things (like water without a border) and you'll do fine.
About the events there are lots of things that you should know if you want to try this yourself.
When you click a P (green spot) you'll see that pattern on the right.
EVENTS (P/S/W on the map)
-When moved they'll happen to the places where you just moved them.
-I don't recommend changing signs (S) at all since it usually just leads to bugs :|
Picture Number (when changed the person will look different but his palette will remain the same, able to be changed from 0-255 I think)
Facing (I know myself what digits 6,7,8,9,10 and 30/31 do, not else are needed to be used anyway. 6=person looks down, 7=person looks up, 8=person looks left, 9=person looks right, 10=person rotates clockwise, 30/31=person looks randomly to all directions)
Movement, Function, Text Block, Text Bank -- no idea and shouldn't be changed
Hidden/Shown if:
For example in 0:36 you'll see that the rival is originally hidden when player has received pokedex (=visited Mr. Pokemon's house).
I put him myself shown when you've received pokedex (=he should be hidden before you've visited Mr. Pokemon).
Also the game includes some digits whose effects cannot be seen.
For instance in Azalea Town rockets have digits 250 & 252 which have their own functions. However some digits do actually nothing.
Unknown 1 & Unknown 2 - no idea and shouldn't be changed
Unknown 3 - this works for trainers only and the possible digits to be put here are 0,1,2,3,4 and 5. For example when it's set to 4 the trainer sees 4 steps to the direction where he looks (see Facing).
Background tile info:
Each map has its own background block in it and player can see 4 steps to each direction but as exception 5 to right.
For example if you make a forest map and the background tile is set to water (background tile can be changed with hex editor only) you've to be careful when making the map.
You can't go to the water to swim but you've to make it so that the map doesn't look buggy when water is seen.
You can either block the route so that player can't see out of the map or put some tiles blocking the entrance to the water.
Most of the maps have trees as background blocks though so you don't have to watch out for that too much.
Warp changing
As you've seen in most hacks places lead to different areas than they usually do.
This is quite complicated to be explained but I try anyway:
In the beginning you'll see that the digits outside of player's house are (1 6 24).
If you wish to make it so that from somewhere else you can enter your own house you've to change its warp digits to (1 6 24) and it will work.
Also you've to notice that it's possible to get back to the same point where you entered your house (before you've changed the warp pointer inside your own house it will still take you to New Bark Town).
Hello. I tried to download CrystalMap(Update) and it doesn't work. Once I unzip it it shows a error message telling me that the download is corrupted.
I tried downloading other tools (cryssprite, crysgym, crysstat, crysmart) and they work fine. I only have that problem with CrystalMap(Update) and crystallmap11, could you re-upload those files again? or provide another download link?
Thanks in advance

@LookingForTheTop
Strange, the unzipping works fine for me at least.
You could try again after a while and if it's still corrupted, I could make another link.

what i mean is... can you elaborate more on the events, like what the numbers mean?

@TheGooseFan
there is more info in the description - also, the real [People] map header structure is here (which the tools allows you to edit) hax.iimarck.us/topic/15/

@MsJcr87
you've to check the ini-files and find the offset for it and add it with crystalmap manually
