Thanks - this was helpful to me. I edited my own black and white portrait of my mom and my daughter almost the exact same way and I was very pleased with the results. B&W "seems like" it should be easier to edit, but to me, it absolutely is not! Any tips I can pick up are a big help!

I think the Black and white has washed out the dimensional shadows on the cheeks and jaw line. He face had more shape before the retouch.

How did you get LR to display your camera model on the info area....my LR just shows the file name and the exposure info below it.

@rpavich You can decide what info you want to show. Go to View - Loupe Info - Show Info Overlay and select what you want to show.
Hit the "I" key to change the info modes.
