How many brainless morons avg. 14 g, 32 pts. per season for 10 yrs.? Fotiu didn't. Fotiu made it a habit of challenging Holmgren at the end of Holmgren's shifts/beginning of Fotiu's, all while Holmgren had a regular shift during games. Find the Flyers/Rangers pre-season bench-clear, in which Fotiu repeatedly pummels a thoroughly undermatched Jim Cunningham from one end of the ice to the other, then take notice of Fotiu refusing to answer to then-rookie, Glen Cochrane.
Holmgren very mean dangerous player. If you beat him with your fists you had to watch out for an elbow or crushing bodycheck in retaliation. One of the toughest
also one of the most self destructive players in history. Some of his antics were
idiotic . Proof he simply lost it totally on the ice sometimes. Off the ice,one of the best people you could ever hope to meet , I shit you not , and I hated Philly!
@dempsey00 Schultz was overrated yes, Holmgren no. Fought absolutely EVERYBODY and won a lot more than he lost. At least a draw with both Playfair and Gillies in their primes, who along with his teammate Behn Wilson were the best of that era. Don't know of any other heavyweight who can claim that experience.
lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your out of your mind. Clark Gillies, Behn Wilson, Bob Probert, John Ferguson, Stan Jonathan... the list goes on.... if you mean diriest, cheap shot fighter then you're right.

Holmgren was a brainless moron. Nick Fotiu taught him a lesson or two.
