Michael Sterling is a native of Miami Florida, whose musical career has spanned thirty years. Michael started out, along with two childhood friends by forming the short lived band, Silver Platinum, who quickly scored a hit with the song 'Dance' and the release of their only self-titled album in 1981. Michael then went on to play bass guitar briefly as a member of the reggae band Inner Circle.
After touring the world with Inner Circle, Michael returned to Miami, were he launched his solo career. He made two songs early in his career that didt generate much attention, 'Desperate' in 1983 and 'Nite Club 69' in 1985. He first struck big time stardom with his first album, No Such Animal, in 1987 produced the songs, 'One More Chance', 'Is It Still Good To Ya' and the timely socially conscious theme song, 'Holiday'. The song, 'Cheating While She's Wearing My Ring received a lot of airplay on the video channels (Its not on the album though). His voice is known for its trademark slight sweet and soft falseto sound.
From the mid to late 1980s, Sterling spent time as an audio engineer and producer for local R&B and Rap artists such as Angee Griffin, Anquette, MC Shy D, and 2 Live Crew. Sterling is credited with writing the love ballad, 'I Will Always Be There For You' for the female Miami Bass trio, Anquette. Sterling's second album, Trouble, released in 1990, featured the songs 'Lovers And Friends' and 'What Do You Do?'
During the 1990s and 2000s, Sterling maintained a low profile, while still releasing albums and producing. Today he runs his own independent record label. His recent musical work is a testament of what true artistry is all about in music. He still garners rave reviews and fans worldwide.
