  • @lionsoult

  • @CHUUMPASS I know Reagan began it all with his SDI program, sth that costs a lot of money which Sovietrussia never had as much as the USA, so Gorbatschow did something those befor him would have never thought of, opening up, which effected the whole USSR.

That's why I think of him as that important, but of course everyone has his share of importance and in the end everyone was suprised how fast and peacefully the reunification was.

  • @ninjaXladyXjae gorbatschow was certainly a factor no doubt, but you clearly overstate his role here!he had no other options but to say"yes"to it,other than massive military interention and thereby bloodshed.by that time he already had his back against the wall, so he was just smart and good-hearted enough to avoid bloodshed!but the real groundwork and foundation for all of it to happen was laid by reagan`s policies!he made it possible that the soviet union couldn't afford to say"njiet"any longer

  • @CHUUMPASS I know it's a bit late but I just read your comment and I have to say that the biggest part of the reunification of Germany was Gorbatschow, the soviet president, and his politics in the 80's 'Glasnost' and 'Perestroika'. It's only because of him that the reunification became something imaginable.

And Kohl's and Reagan's importants comes after him.

  • @Felfix i like your attitude ! good to read it man ! but i should tell you that i'm german myself, and i feel the same way in general. greetings. ;)

  • @CHUUMPASS i am very thankful for what america did. especially since i know what could have happend if the russian french or british got to choose what to do. u can be proud of how much more humane america was at that time then all the other countries. but dont get too overproud thats what gets everyone mad ;)
