The "Storm Water Enterprise" is pure bullshit. It is legalized STEALING. It is extortion, which is no different that what the mafia does! I basically told them to "go to hell" too, and haven't paid a single one of their invoices. Unfortunately, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled in their favor, and they have threatened to lien my house if I don't pay. I don't want that to happen, so now I'm gonna have to pay it. 'Feels "great" being STOLEN from. I hope the City Council members rot in Hell....

don;'t pay it as of yet . we are getting it back on the ballot in november.. hold out as long as you can . it is a scare tactit by the city of colorado springs.. i am not paying the illegal tax on any of my properties.

Tony! Way to go man! I now have my 4th bill I'm ready to tear up. I'm considering putting it on someones answering machine as I flush it down the toilet though... Not sure what I want to do with it. Stand Up Colorado Springs and Don't pay these bills our city government has just created out of no where. If you do you can be sure that they will just keep creating these bogus companies for everything from the police to pay for city council salaries!

i agree. this city government uses many ways to rip the people off of their money, stormwater enterprise is one, i guess they were not collecting enough off of the cops and the aggressive revenue collecting so they had to come up with this stormwater enterprise. i am embarassed of my city government including the mayor and city council of colorado springs..

He is right, it IS a tax that they called a fee. They put it up for vote in 2005 and the public voted against it, then City Council took it upon themselves to put it into order and expected the public to pay it, as if we had some choice in the matter. Furthermore, I never paid the bill once and they tried to collect on it and I disputed it. The judge dismissed the motion to collect with prejudice.

There is a backlog of jobs set to be performed by these supposed 'thiefs' and 'taxhounds' of jobs that needed to be completed across Colorado. With all of the impermeable surfaces that are popping up around Colorado Springs with development, you'll see how important Stormwater Enterprise was when your homes are drowned in filth. Good job!

I can't believe this, they send you a bill for allowing rainwater to runoff, but its against the law to collect it.

I can't believe you guys approved a 10 mil increase over 5 years. "Its only $125 next year", yeah, but over 5 years its $625 and that almost doubles your property tax.

What a bogus deal. 1st of all, we can't even use barrels to store rain water, it's illegal in the state of Colorado. Now they want to charge us to drain it away.  Good for you Tony, keep fighting the good fight.

I own 5+ acres out in the sticks, so that means sceptic for us. This means i'm safe for now on the fee, but i'm sure they'll find some way to reach into my pockets.

And if your stormwater from gutter downspouts screws up your neighbors lawn, You are to blame! Some neighbor once scolded me for not removing the 1 inch of snow on sidewalk of my rental house in CS. I told him, its not my snow, it belongs to Arkansas.
