This clip is taken from a video of high school / jr. college highlights of all the members of the Washington Huskies Football Recruiting Class of 1996. These highlights feature Curtis Williams, who attended both Bullard and Coalinga High Schools in Fresno, California. He was one of the most highly recruited running backs in the country but was converted to safety at UW. He was a senior in 2000 playing like a future NFL draft pick when his career, and later his life, were cut short by a spinal injury. He was a great football player and a great friend, we miss you CW!

  • I was at the game he was hurt, the play seemed so innocent, he was dead on the field but Stanford hospital doctors revived him, terrible tragedy

  • i've never heard that last part before. it was a terrible tragedy but at least he's resting now with his heavenly Father. everytime i hear UW is playing Stanford it makes me think of him.

  • Yes, Curtis was from Huron Ca, just like his older brother James William who was in the NFL. Huron mite be a small farming community but it brought out some good talent.

  • yeah i remember him talking about a couple different places near Fresno including Huron and Coalinga. he also talked about his brothers a lot and how James wanted him to go to Fresno State! thank God he chose the Dawgs instead!

  • RIP CW... I was lucky to play with him at Bullard. You knew he was gonna be playing on Sundays! A great teammate and leader. Tragic and sad to see he didn't get to show what he could do in the NFL. It was an honor to play with you Curtis! I guess the Lord needed a free safety for his team ;)

  • I kicked for Lindsay in 1994 his sophmore year at Coalinga. I was told not to kick the ball to him and guess what, i did, and guess what, nobogy touched him. He touched the ball 4 times that day and had over 200 total yards with 4 TD's. He was the greatest talent i ever played against.

  • I played on for Bullard the Year before he touched down in Fresno. He was a great man. I wished I could have played my senior year at Bullard but I moved to Rancho Cordova, RIP Curt and Coach Stewart

  • I was the fullback in this video, #24. Curtis was one of my best friends my senior year. He moved to Fresno after the first qtr of our junior year and was a Knight from there on. Curt was a warrior, all the way till the end. He did things on the field that most can only dream of doing. We miss you Curt! RIP #2 BHS - #25 UW
