**This is the first Flip-Side tutorial to be uploaded to YouTube. Cool, eh?

This method is from Jaap's Puzzle Page, a useful source of solutions to many, many puzzles. Here's the link, check it out:
http://www.geocities.com/jaapsch/puzzles/

Jaap discovered this method, and I use it in this video only with his permission. Special thanks to him and his site.

Here are the algorithms:
The Cycle: Ul/Ur/Dl/Dr/
The 4-9 Parity: UlDl/D2r/D2l/U2r/U2l/D2rUr/Dl/DrUr/Dl/

I found this puzzle at a shop called "River City Games" in Edmonton, for the price of 15 dollars. Well worth it, I'd say, and I recommend that anyone with the opportunity to buy one does so.

If you didn't already notice, part of the tripod is visible during the entirety of the video, I was going to redo it but decided that would be a monumental waste of time. : )

  • this is a bad tutorial. you only told us what to do with the three if its in the bottom right. whagt do we do if its in the other 4 spots? you should make an updated 1

  • That's the only spot where it should give you any trouble. In any other spot, the 3 is easy to solve.

  • I got a 8-9 switch. What do i do?

  • Use a cycle to change it into a 4-9 switch.

  • i just bought one today!

    its really fun to solve.

it took me about 40 minutes to solve the first time

  • Holy crap! I have never been able to solve it intuitively... I just get impatient with new puzzles and find a solution.

Good on you for actually finishing it!

  • The Flipside puzzle seems like a harder challenge to tackle intuitively than the Rubik's cube. I may be exaggerating... o_O

  • i wrote the parity algorithm on the wall, unfortunately my mum wasn't that happy with it.

  • thank you very much, Lance.

    I can finally solve it.

  • I tried this before I knew how to solve it and I got it all exept the 8-9 were flipped

  • Where can you buy this? I'm not in ur country

  • Yo bro This WAS Awesome! Thank you so much!

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight but can i ask you 1 more question if you look on 4:27 the 7 is on the bottom right then during the transition its in the middle... how do you get that?

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight yeah your right dude sorry. i noticed that

  • Cool video - simple process - I found it easier just to use the first steps to correct the last issue rather then learning that last big process - easier to correct it by messing up your last few numbers the reinsert them ....
