@USEYAHOO I DO NOT recommend capybaras for families with young children. Unlike guinea pigs, capybaras are not domesticated animals. They are wild animals with wild animal instincts. Also unlike guinea pigs, they weigh over 100 lbs. A bite from a guinea pig can be painful and even leave a scar. A bite from a capybara could take off a finger and virtually any capybara bite will scar. Capybaras bite each other all the time but it doesn't normally hurt them. You, or your child, will not be so lucky

I think if u introduce them at a young age to your kids (get them aquainted) and the kids care for it more often (pet it, feed it, run around with it) the Capibara will be just fine unless it has brain damage or some mental illness xD My guinea pigs never bit me unless I teached them to react to a specific gesture. xD they would by anybody if they touch em under their arms. Like grabbing their armpits or their back legs. xD Pets arent aggressive if you dont act like a DICK!

@PurpleMinionsAreOP Capybaras are very demanding as pets. As with any exotic animal, a lot of human interaction is needed to overcome a capybara's natural fears and instincts. Plus they need a large area to graze in and a pool for swimming. Given that they have incredibly sharp teeth, weigh over 100 lbs and can be aggressive, I do not recommend them for families with children.

@caplincapybara This is pretty cool, ive always liked them, i think they have a unique "cuteness" to them.
My question real quick, how hard are the to care for? special needs or ? and are they family friendly? (lots of kids around me)
