It was indeed fun I really enjoyed it we rented our bikes in Damascus from there they take you and your bike up to white top mountain to the drop off point from there you ride back to Damascus a distance of about 17 miles down hill all the way
The trail is covered with fine gravel all the way with a lot of scenic bridges and views

The Virginia Creeper trail was once the Virginia Carolina Railroad that ran from Todd NC to Abingdon Virginia were it connected to the NW system
