A low-cam hack for a Canon Vixia HF20 flying on a Joby Gorillapod ( http://joby.com/gorillapod ) wrapped around a walkingstick, in this case a Leki Wanderfreund Antishock ( http://www.leki.com/trekking/trekkingPole.php?pID=23 ). Wrapped nice and tight with the wrist tether securely tied up close just in case :) It floats pretty well, but I need to counterbalance the other end somehow to get better stability. Its not too bad the way it is though.

  • Hey man, yep the legs on the Gorillapod do tend to get loose (but define 'too soon', you know?), but I've had one for two years now for my point-and-shoot camera that I still use all the time... it may be looser than it was, but it still holds good. I had the pod mounted to the handle-end of a walkingstick though I bet a golf club would work just as well.

i thought the gorilla pod thing was great when i first saw them. i havent used/bought one yet.

i did hear some guy in an electric shop saying that the joints/swivel sockets go kaput too soon but havent had that verified.

excellent perspective, way down low. looked like it was on the end of a golf club and if it wasnt then i wonder if mounting a camera on the head of a driver would be good
