The 65,000 square foot Nzh'o Na'ch'idle'ee Medical Center serves a population of about 3,000 people on the Jicarilla Apache Indian Reservation in northern New Mexico. Opened in 2004 outside the town of Dulce, 3 hours north of Albuquerque, it is a fully modern medical center that offers a range of services including dentistry, optometry, urgent care and x-ray, laboratory, audiology, physical therapy, behavioral health, and a pharmacy.
The onsite urgent care department sees an average of 20 patients per day and consists of 4 individual suites equipped to provide care for all types of emergencies including cardiac, trauma, orthopedics, and childbirth. The cardiac monitoring is the most up-to-date technology and all professional staff members are ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) trained. The radiology program utilizes RamSoft software for digitalization of x-rays, with images sent via the Web to a radiologist in Albuquerque for readings and consultation.
