  • These guys were pioneers in the field of PC video editing... and PC Raytrace rendering with their Lightwave app....... my hats off to them.

What an exciting time it was back then......today we take this technology for granted.

I still own two Amiga 2000's and they still fire up....... I wish someone would re-introduce them today using the tech we have learned over the years.

  • electronics were so expensive back then..such simple devices cost next to nothing now

  • desktop video

  • I don't know how did these guys keep straigh faces, I could not stop giggling when seeing their 'I'm-a-very-serious-guy!' faces in mirrors, mosaics and all other effects ;D

    Incredible effects.

  • I didn't say that the exact abilities of a toaster or TV studio are available to everyone. I said that today, high-quality video production is easy and cheap. None of what I said is untrue.

  • Untrue. You still can't plug in four different camera feeds and transition between them to 2 different outputs in real-time, broadcast quality for under $1,000. The 1990 Toaster can...

  • I am seeing all this stuff for the first time. From what i can remember. I remember when this was brand new and still being talked about in the early 90's to 2000's.

  • This was brilliant, groundbreaking stuff at the time. It brought high-quality video production out of the TV studios and put it within reach of the masses. Nowadays of course, DV production is almost effortless and costs next to nothing, but this is where it really began.

  • Great! Realtime Videoeffects with a 50 MHZ Processor Machine.

  • lol 4k color
