  • John Oates is simply a beautiful man and a wonderful singer/vocalist.

  • This Video says so much about John Oates... he looks like he is COMMANDING attention on this video and for a long time listener ... it is rather ODD. An awesome song he wrote that whenever I listen to it ... it just takes me back, the best version is on the LIVE LP from the same year!

  • I never heard this before. Wow John sounded way better back then. Great song!

  • this is pure John Oates . Beautiful! makes me still fell like a girl. the way it was when this song was new.

  • This album yes album got me through some hard times in Okinawa....when I was really homesick....and I go my first Dear John back in the bicentennial year....along with other albums that same year....1976! Yes John Hall and Darryl Oates are true musicians and songwriters in the truest sense of the word...I'm just a kid don't make feel like a man.....DAMN YOU TALK TO ME!

  • Does anybody know why John Oates stopped contributing vocally and even somewhat in songwriting after "Voices", when in my opinion, the group got way too commercial? I really don't get it. It was like a 50/50 or perhaps 60/40 split between them, then it became 90/10 with none of John Oates songs being released as singles. I can't find anything online anywhere.

Personally, I liked John Oates more back in this era, running through their first eight albums.

  • They are too cool...I love them.

  • to VLTRP.......I think Prince looks like John Oates, not Oates looking like Prince.....I think JO is the original. I'm a Prince fan, but JO gets the vote. What a sexy song! OMG!

  • @ldybby i saw that look too! :)

  • I do love John Oates. So underrated and so talented. hecko.
