I think my Kansan friend here is making a valid point. You can't compare mixed-race marriage with same-sex marriage. The former issue involved the government telling people who they could and couldn't marry based on their skin color (NOT a choice). The other involved the government telling people who they could and couldn't marry based on their genitalia (obviously a choice--we all choose what sex organs we're born with!). God bless.
I'm sorry, but I have to agree with kansanchief. If you make a choice that doesn't directly harm non consenting individuals, then that choice will never be protected by the Constitution or be considered a Civil Liberty. After all, when we choose religion, we can't ever have our religious beliefs protected (UNLESS it's a Christian choice). God bless.
This is exactly true, hun. After all, all gay men are obsessed with women and femininity. They're so obsessed, in fact, that they have them posing half naked in all their magazines and they want to have sex with them! What a repulsive obsession. They have no appreciation for masculinity.
I might be blowing your comment out of proportion, but did you just say that because someone is attracted to the same sex, they're their own species? But seeing as you're using evolutionary reason, this conversation has gained some reason.
I see your point, and I'm pretty sure even homosexuals realize that their personal relationship isn't "beneficial" to the population as a whole, but you need to include the big variable of the society the evolved human brain has established.
I have respected your opinion with as much patience as I can muster, but you have failed to return my courtesy. I shall quote Thomas Paine on this, "Anyone who denies another person of this right, makes himself a slave to his own opinion, because he prevents himself from being able to change it."
I did answer that question. It is you who refuses to answer mine! I will repeat; DO YOU NOT SEE THE LOGIC IN THAT TO DENY A HOMOSEXUAL COUPLE FROM GETTING MARRIED, ADOPTING, ETC FALLS UNDER THE DEFINITION OF CIVIL LIBERTIES THAT PREVENT THE GOVERNING BODY FROM INTERFERING WITH A CITIZENS' LIFE?!
Funniest Headzup vid there is, imo.
