Field testing of wound simulations for combat trauma. The Corpsmen running the training pulled out all the stops on the Marines in testing their combat life saving skills. Video shows the use of CAT Tourniquets, wound packing, dressing, and hemorrhage control.

Techline wound simulations are rugged, easily donned and doffed, bleed, smell, and allow actual interventions to be practiced on them. The Techline wound simulations will promote the trainee's muscle memory and limit the psychological delay when treating actual trauma patients on the battlefield.

  • I've got to take the video camera with me on one of the next training classes. We've added many new wounds. SKEDCO put a bunch of new videos up with our gear, but we haven't gotten around to it.

  • Music was chosen by 2 criteria: It had to be free-ware and it was to enduce stress in the people watching the video. If I could figure out how to visually or audibly express the feel of the material I'd add that too.

  • Sucks to be the guys joining the armed forces to fight but ends up being a human practice dummy for the medics/corpsman.

  • @Roger1379 : Better a medical practice dummy than an artillery dummy.

The best way to know if you've put a TQ on tight enough is to have one applied to you. You get the idea plenty quick that your hand goes to sleep once the windlass is turned a few times.

  • In trying to reply to ErIwHgIh I deleted his comment along with my reply. Basicly he said he's heard the gear sucks. It's not make-up & you can practice actual clinical skills without damaging it. ErlwHglh, send me an e-mail to Techline. They'll make you a believer.

  • THIS IS REALY SHIT :/

  • Not sure if thats good or bad. Explane.

  • nearly perfect ... no gloves ? :)

  • it funny u see enough trauma learn what is, and isnt viable and control the situation....it becomes second nature.

and my medical knowledge is miniscule the people that do this work should have a hatchet or something so they dont dick around with dead tissue like some of the people in this vid.

  • This simulations are so realistic! I think this is a great way for soldiers to practice Medical training instead of using live animals experiments. :)

  • music sucked, but video was good.

  • What a cool training!

  • dreaming to do this job...
