I took her home and discovered she only had three paws.

The kitties sure are cute! I too have a three-legged kitten. His name is Ernest (after the late Jim Varney character). He's about 4 months old. Got him at the shelter. He came in with a chewed up leg that got badly infected. They had to remove his leg all the way to the hip socket. But it does not slow him down! As he grows, his one hind leg is gaining strength and compensating for the loss. It's funny, I don't really even think about the missing leg, and I know he doesn't!

actually this cat has a very happy life.. she seems aware that anything is wrong and hops around happily.. her owner loves her dearly...

I have a 9 month old kitten also with three legs. She is missing the same back left leg like your kitty. She also has a sort of "stub" and hobbles around just like that. Her name is Kaylee. I got her from a PetSmart from a litter of 5 kittens. I chose her first. She was born with her umbilical cord wrapped around her leg, causing it to not finish developing in the womb. So they amputated it when she was born.
