Video of the lightRadio news conference in London, on Feb. 7th, 2011.
Presentation of the lightRadio system which will dramatically reduce technical complexity and contain power consumption and other operating costs in the face of sharp traffic growth. This is accomplished by taking today's base stations and massive cell site towers, typically the most expensive, power hungry, and difficult to maintain elements in the network, and radically shrinking and simplifying them.
Conference guests: Stephen Carter, Wim Sweldens, Tod Sizer and Javier Garcia Gomez (Alcatel-Lucent), Lisa Su (Freescale) and Joe Weinman (HP).

This is not a way to broadcast your radio station or sth. This is basicly a milestone that brings a new innovation to cell-phone, GSM and/or mobile operating industary. If you watch it all, it brings green, efficent and social innovation replacing the huge base stations.
Simply, it is a base station that consumes only 5 Watts and weigthens only a few grams... and will make you reachable anywhere anytime in the world.

This demonstration of the new LightRadio Technology is great.
How does this LIGHTRADIO technology help me as an internet radio station looking to stay competitive on the internet as we forge ahead against terrestrial radio and satellite radio.
What does this new technology do to help me reach new and existing listeners on mobile and ipad platforms.
My concerns like others in my market is how can I transmit my radio station broadcast efficiently, effectively and at a low cost?
