Well I'm going to tell you a couple things you are wrong on, so please don't take offense,1. You can buy a iPhone that are unlocked, due to the fact that in some countrys law requries it. 2. If you bought an iPhone that is one AT&T, you can "Jail-break" It and force It to become unlocked. 3. Yes you are paying for the Brand name "Apple" but with that said, you are paying for quality,consistency, and the amazing support from there custormer service. So in essence you get exactly what you pay for.

@niz123abc You are right, you could do that. I have an unlocked jailbroken phone :) It was a gift. Im not doubting that you cant do that. Now when you look at AT&T's service you do get what you pay for I guess. I mean a "$99.00" $500.00 phone and a monthly data plan and service charge of up to $200.00 a month... most definately. But I would just rather make a $500 down payment and a $200.00 a month carnote... just my thoughts... :)
