Learn How to configure FreeNAS for backups on Windows, Mac OSX, and PC-BSD.

Here's the command Mac users need to enter into the Terminal to allow OSX to use FreeNAS for time machine: defaults write com.apple.systempreferences TMShowUnsupportedNetworkVolumes 1

  • @nkajal It's not fully supported yet, but will be as a plugin in upcoming 8.2 version. Check out the FreeNAS forums and #freenas in FreeNode IRC for more answers. Thanks for the feedback, there will be more videos coming!

  • So this is all about files backup. Is there any way to setup partition images or snapshot backups on xp and windows 7?
