1'31.8 is impressive indeed. Sounds like you were street tires, too. I just turned a 1'31.8 the last HST session in April in my CRX, but I was on Nitto NT01s. I'll be looking for sub 1'30s by the end of the year. (hopefully!)

Yes, I was definately fighting the car that day. The 3 or 4 blown Elises were devilishly quick around Hallett, but the lone "regular" Elise was pointing us S2K guys by all day. The base Elise puts down 180crank horses (or according to one owner 165 whp) in a 2200 pound chassis. S2000: 240crank horses (200 whp on a good day) in a 2800 pound chassis. A pitty we dont have the last session on tape, 2 s2K's and a blown Elise and Exige running together. That was the highlite of the day.
Wow... 1:31.8. The best I was able to pull was a high 1:35. I had I/H/E & Kumho Victoracers (stock suspension). I'm slow. :-(

That's alright, I had the driver mod (lots of schools and seat time) and great drivers like Nick (circuitRS) to steal my line from! Not to mention that we both used your videos to preview the track. Keep at it and you'll get down there.

Their motors were from toyota right? I drive a 89 supercharged MR2 but I'd really like to be able to compare mid-engine to front engine rear drive. I've only ever owned two cars and both are MR2s so I don't really know what it's like to push the limits of a front engine rear drive car.

Yes, I believe it uses a version of the motor from the Celica GT-S. The S2000 is interesting as it's actualy a mid-ship chassis. The engine sits behind the front axle so the moment isn't as large as most FD cars (though at 2:53 in the video, I'm not sure Nick would agree!).

S2000 is a nice car but I'm sorry to say I'd prefer the mid-engined performance of the elise.

The Elise is an amazing chassis. Too bad Lotus did not deliver it with more power from the factory. There were multiple blown Elises out at the track that day and all were very quick around the track, like they were meant to be :)
