Chelsea was chasing a squirrel and got her skin caught on something sharp. Her wound had lots of crusts and discharge, but cleaned up really nice and didn,t need suturing. You can clip and clean a wound to see if it needs veterinary attention. Deep or bleeding wounds, ragged wounds, painful wounds need attention. Wash with warm water a bit of soap and use antibiotic cream. If painful you can use one adult 325mg aspirin per thirty pounds twice daily.

  • @feelme19 I posted it on your channel site. The question was about heartworms, correct? If not there, you can send it again and I'll be glad to answer.

  • @DrGregDVM i send it again,i hope you will read it :)

  • @feelme19 I sent a reply Thanks for the comments

  • Should you worry about her licking the wound at all? Or is it not a problem?

  • @goldenretluver93 In wounds that are small and have healing tissue, licking generally will not cause problems. I think it's nature's way to take care of things. Chronic over licking of wounds on the legs may cause chronic sores, but that is more involved with anxiety and OCD behavior.
