@Mr5CHNELL and for pulling yourself into the front seat, for intermediates anyway, its a good way to make sure they have their hands in front of them and pull their weight into the front of the boots. Is it just me or are this guys transitions horrendous?
@MrChurbs That will create a bad habit over time. You shouldn't drag your inside ski parallel. You want about 60/40 weight distribution. Just roll the skis to initiate - it's the point of the new sidecuts. Try also leading your inside knee into the turn.
I find that the best drill for learning to carve is taking all the weight off inside foot and then as you weight your outside foot drag and bring the "light" inside foot in parallel. It'll be so easy if you can learn to do that. Simply initiate the turn by weighting and you can carve.

@theducttapeguy Pole plant is for timing only - period. Oh ... and to fend off snowboarders ;)

@shotyouup2 Dude shut up he was just holding them up, he was not using them the proper way. Poles help to initiate turns.

pole plant not necessary - he's CARVING!
Pole plant is a timing device for skiers who still need to down-up-unweight the skis to get them turning
Look at pro racers - do they pole plant? No, because they're expert at CARVING!
