It's so fantastic to see an American Dr Who fan!

The end honestly scared me. I'm still not sure how much of the sudden change in the Doctor's character was him convincing the captain to kill herself and how much was an actual change. And I'm not sure which one is worse.

Great review, my friend. Waters of Mars was Doctor Who at its finest. Dark, psychological, terrifying, gripping and ultimately powerful. Faultless performances from David and Lindsey and Russell's writing made it one of my top ten favourite episodes of all time.

I agree. WOM was my favourite Doctor Who special. I loved how they gave the Doctor this story line because of course.. if you knew what was going to happen.. and were as benevolent as the Doctor.. how could you resist changing things?
The monsters in the episode were quite scary and are level with the weeping angels for me. However, the scariest thing in the episode for me was Evil-Doctor! :(! Tennant's acting was amazing.

I don't mean I liked it so much, like as a part of the episode, I liked it continuity-wise.
I more was referring to Aidelaide's(spelling sorry) actions because it was very different for a companion to do. Usually they just obey the Doctor.
I LIKED WoM, don't get me wrong, I don't know, I just thought it was a bit off.

I actually felt the opposite, lol. I thought the episode as a whole was quite good but the end was just ridiculous. David's acting was fantastic but what was going on was just... well, ridiculous. Oooh, look, it's the grim reaper Ood after the Doctor's gone psycho. Didn't like it.
I thought it was amazing, The Doctor's sudden change in character towards the end was just...shocking at times. He was on the brink, and it was scary as hell too.
