If you find yourself arrested for anything, do not talk. Do not talk to anyone. Don't make any statements or speak to other inmates. You also need to understand your right to deny someone searching your car. You should know your constitutional right to avoid unreasonable searches and seizures. Doesn't matter if the police officer tries to chide you into letting him search your car, it's your right. However, always be polite and not beligerent to the officer. It goes a very long way to not be rude to an officer, not only for that night of your arrest but throughout your case. Try not to listen to other people -- family, friends, co-workers -- who want to try and tell you what happened with their case and their situation. Not every case is the same.
