They are like food for the soul. So, we were talking about soulmates, loneliness, fear...This week I want you to share your favorite poem. It can be in your language. I'm going to share my favorite poem, one of them of course and you're always welcome to return to this blog and share another poem. But if you have to single out one poem, what would it be? Please feel free to put your favorite poem and share with other readers.
Thank you!

  • Mine would have to be "Nocturno a Rosario by Manuel Acuna

it's way too long to post it though.

  • It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

  • There are so many... but there is a general current of poetry that, through the ages, attempts to express that inexplicable restlessness of one's soul, when in fact, as "beasts of bone and blood" we should apparently be as self-satisfied as fowls in the air or fishes in the deep. This little anonymous poem of the 13th or 14th century says it best:

    Fowels in the frith,

    The fisses in the flod,

    And i mon wax wod.

    Much sorw I walke with

for beste of bon and blod.

    ["wax wod" = "grow mad"]

  • "In this part of the story I am the one who

Dies, the only one, and I will die of love because I love you,

Because I love you, Love, in fire and blood"

    Pablo Neruda

  • i want to share with you this poem named alone by edgar allan poe From childhood's hour I have not been As others were; I have not seen As others saw; I could not bring My passions from a common spring. From the same source I have not taken My sorrow; I could not awaken My heart to joy at the same tone; And all I loved, I loved alone.

  • Dear paulo coelho and readers, I liked to share one of my favourite poems with you all it's a sufi poem, I love sufi poetry I found it so pure and so true. I hope you'll love it too. Four elements within your nature is every element, so listen to some sage advice: you are demon and wild beast and angel and human. Whatever you cultivate, that you will be Baba Af delkashani

Tell me, if I caught you one day

and kissed the sole of your foot,

wouldn't you limp a little then,

    afraid to crush my kiss?...
