The Tante Huppé Inn is located in the heart of the Natchitoches Landmark Historic District. Natchitoches is the oldest town in the Louisiana Purchase Territory, having been founded by the French in 1714. It still remains as a museum city containing an Old World charm. Historic buildings of French, Spanish and early American architectural styles line the streets of the Historic District.
A member of a prominent French family built the Tante Huppe Inn in 1830. Today it still portrays those Creole aristocrats who lived in the home for generations.
The Natchitoches Preservation Network includes groups and individuals who are working together to preserve the heritage of historic Natchitoches, Louisiana. These places really do matter, to all of us!
