@T1Squid There is indeed CC, it's just that it pales so much in comparison to Dota that you feel it is almost non existent. You should try Dota though, the original and the best. If you are interested in the Dota genre in general you should search for the video "dota history" on youtube.

@vithaj92 I really can't relate to anything you said ... CC as well as teamwork exists; though I do not know whether the amount is diminished in LoL compared to the other games. I feel that this is just another fanboy rant, though I can not judge since I've never really played HoN or DotA.

@vithaj92 low level gameplay often resumes in chase and flee playstyle, but try a ranked in LoL or even a normal one at level 30, you'll see the major difference about tactics, countering, timing and especially teamplay.
