@WarriorCrimson I think you need to do more research. The Brits left tens of thousands of troops behind while they focused on Europe, yet they could not beat a loosely formed milita with inferior training and equipment.

It's ok, I understand that you are butthurt. Afterall, I live in a truly independent and free country while you are still part of the Monarchy.

The US of A did not "win" the War of Independence, the British were overtaken by other events, the British devoted almost all of their fighting power against their European Allies, had it not been for the assistance of the French you'd all still be colonies!

But to say that it was the French and Spainish that won the war would be understating America's achievements. When it started America had no national government, no army, no navy and no allies. But America was able to win the support of the French and Spainish to form a Continental Army which had inferior training and equipment compared to the Brits but still won the war.

What you meant to say was "It only proved French Military Might, given that the British devoted far more if its military might to fighting the French. " Not to mention the French Military Officers in the Continental Army, the French Gold, Guns and Soldiers...

The Australian Economy hasn't suffereed a recession in 20 years, which means your resource boom theory doesn't hold any water. Even if China doesn't buy our resources their current capital investment contracts alone would save us from a recession for many many many years to come :) It is awesome being an Aussie!
